Season 2, Episode 2 - "Columbo - The Greenhouse Jungle (1972)"

Season 2, Episode 2 - "Columbo - The Greenhouse Jungle - 1972"

This episode was directed by Boris Sagal and written by Jonathan Latimer, Richard Levinson and William Link.

The three best outfits in this episode are:

1) Gloria West’s pink on pink look:

Gloria is rocking polyester pink bootcut pants with a hot pink side-tie halter top

She finishes the look with big striped acrylic hoop earrings, gold bangle bracelets, and a pink diamond ring.

2) Cathy Goodland’s red dress:

Cathy is wearing a polyester plunging v-neck halter dress with white trim and a bow tie on front.

This is summery, fresh and adorable.

3) Cathy Goodland’s white and yellow flower dress over shorts:

This is a pastel yellow and white floral lace cut out maxi dress with a side slit and the coolest matching shorts underneath:

The funniest line in this episode is when Columbo absolutely tumbles ass over tea kettle down a hill and says “It’s a little - uh - steep, but I tell ya, it WAS the quickest way down.”

Runner up for funniest line is Jarvis Goodland saying, "Blood is thicker than martinis."

Bonus love for accessories goes out to Jarvis Goodland’s toupee:

You may recognize Jarvis as Arthur Kennicutt from Season 1 Episode 2 “Death Lends a Hand” (1971) -

Before the hairpiece, same ascot tie.

Bonus love for decor goes out to Gloria’s entire living room and particularly her “Relaxing Your Mind” book

There are rainbow pops of color all over this room and the gold leaf mantel sculpture is a beaut.

More bonus love for decor goes out to Jarvis Goodland’s billiards room which Columbo finds magnificent:

Extra, extra bonus love for decor goes out to Cathy Goodland’s closet:

We want every single thing hanging on that rod.
