Season 3, Episode 3:  “Columbo” Candidate for Crime (TV Episode 1973) This episode was directed by Boris Sagal, and written by Irv Pearlberg, Alvin Friedman, and Roland Kibbee. The three best outfits in this episode are: 1)  Linda Johnson's scarlet letter "A" dress:        (Eagle eyes for fashion may notice this is not the first time we've seen a lovely lady of Columbo in a scarlet letter "A" outfit - Nora Chandler (Ann Baxter) in S2E5 Requiem for a Falling Star also sports a red "AAAAA" tank top .)   This is a long sleeve red knit sweater dress with white checkerboard pattern on top and scarlet letter "A"s all over. Season 3, Episode 2:  “Columbo” Any Old Port in a Storm (TV Episode 1973) This episode was directed by Leo Penn and written by Stanley Ralph Ross, Larry Cohen, and Richard Levinson. The three best outfits in this episode are: 1) Joan Stacey’s white knit outfit when she goes to Columbo’s office to report her fiancé missing:    This is a white ribbed mock turtleneck sweater under a long knit cardigan vest with cut-out square pattern and matching skirt     Very striking with her giant gold tree sapling necklace.  2) Enrico Carsini’s leisurewear:      This is a butterfly collar brown denim with white contrast stitch western shacket. It has all the bells and whistles - epaulets, back flair:      Side slits as well.
