Season 5, Episode 5, Columbo - Now You See Him (1976)

This episode was directed by Harvey Hart and written by Michael Sloan, William Link, and Richard Levinson.

The three best outfits in this episode are:

1)  The Great Santini's Glen plaid sportcoat:

It's not just the Prince of Wales check jacket. It's the bright blue oxford shirt and the royal blue, yellow, and green silk ascot scarf tie, and the bright orange pocket scarf. All together a rainbow for this magician slash Nazi.

Santini is dressed to the nines throughout this episode but this one is the boldest get up.

2) Mrs. Wright's green outfit:

She's wearing a two-tone green raglan turtleneck sweater with matching pleated skirt

With her giant bangs and giant gemstone pendant necklace, what about a nice hand?

3) The Great Santini's brown butter gingham outfit:

He's sporting many multiple layers of silky polyester gingham and solids. It's a brown check sport coat with suede elbow patches, over a yellow vest with brass buttons, over a pastel yellow butterfly collared shirt.

A kicky yellow gingham ascot scarf tie and brown silk pocket scarf, as well. To the nines.

Honorable mention for fashion and segue into the episode's funniest moments are Lieutenant Columbo and his new trench coat.

This is a brown coat with contrast light brown trim on the pockets and giant collar. His wife gave it to him for his birthday.

He hates this trench coat.

He cannot think in this coat.

He left it in the police cafeteria and Sgt. Wilson saved it for him

He thought somebody stole it.

And tells his dog, Dog, if someone tries to lift it, look the other way
