Season 6, Episode 3, Columbo - The Bye-Bye Sky High IQ Murder Case (1977)

This episode was directed by Sam Wanamaker, and written by Robert Malcolm Young and William Link, and Richard Levinson.

The three best outfits from this episode are:

1) Vivian Brandt's red sheer tunic outfit:

Here she is wearing a wide leg bright red jumpsuit with a silver belt and a long sheer boatneck tunic on top.

She really loves clothes, expensive clothes, and spending money she doesn't have on them.

The red dots on the tunic are 3D texturized, almost looking like pussy willows, and there are sequins. It looks great with her hair.

2) Vivian Brandt's new nightgown:

She vies for her husband's attention in this dramatic entrance wearing her new pale pink silky negligee with matching robe with giant emu feather sleeves.

She bought it for him, but unfortunately he felt compelled to embezzle from his firm and murder his partner to pay for her clothing, so he is too distracted to notice or enjoy.

Vivian loves buying clothes!

3) Miss Eisenback's white suit with tiger blouse:

She's wearing an ivory blazer with orange piping trim over a disco tiger blouse and skirt set.

It's a nice outfit to wear while she thinks she drank her contact lens.

Oh wait, no - she found it.

The funniest lines from this episode are when Suzy at the Disco tells Campanella all the self-help she's done:

She's tried Esalen, Primal Scream, Pyramid Power,

Synanon, A Black Mass in San Francisco,

Open marriage, EST, TA, TM, I'm Okay You're Okay,

And she's STILL a target!

She tells Columbo she likes the way he wears his hair:

And he returns the compliment:

Columbo trying to manage the crowded disco on Suzy's lap is funny in itself:

Also funny is Columbo's backhand slap at the Sigma (Mensa) Society members' intelligence:

He was talking to the most intelligent people in the world, and never even noticed.

Also funny is the scene with Jamie Lee Curtis as a waitress in a diner who makes Columbo give her his donut

She hands him a menu and asks what he wants, and guess what?

He wants a donut!
